In July 1968, John B. Calhoun, an American research psychologist, once did a very splendid experiment on the effect of open space on your mind. The experiment, naturally, involved rats, not humans however his outcome were widely regarded to be a applicable. Here is what he did.

He arrange four pairs of mice into a utopian universe. There’re no predators, no shortage of food or drinks and of course, no scarcity of mating partner. Bottom line is these mouse have anything they want – with the exception of space.

Initially, all things looks just fine. The mouse lived as they should be. Their community grew very quickly, doubling around every fifty-five days. Pretty soon, when the population of the mouse reached 620, the place he was putting them in became overcrowded. This was day 315 of the experiment. Surprisingly, the number of mouse began to drop since then… to the point where the last surviving birth was at day 600. At the time, in between day 315 to day 600, the mouse behaved intermittently.

No longer did guys take care of their territory and females. No longer did they occupy themselves in courtship or physical encounter. Alternatively they become anti-social, and groomed themselves. As a result of their absence of scars and healthy coats, these number of guys were dubbed “the beautiful ones”.

The girls, on the other hand, became progressively aggressive, reluctant to give birth and expelled their immature before weaning was complete. After day 600, the population began to decline into extinction.

Look familiar? Useless to say, these mouse are extremely depressed during this period of time. Did the insufficient space and increasing population density altering your psychology? Who knows? Maybe so, maybe not. Yet if you are like me, you desire to find out.

Try this out: At worst every week, go to an open area. Be it a pasture or out of town. Many people feel relieved, kind of a freedom feeling when in open area. No mental exercises or brain training exercises can substitute this.

There’re more than a dozen vision exercises out there that you can attempt to strengthen your eyesight. Few of them are unquestionably worthy, some are only OK, and others are simply a waste of time. How will you know which is which?

That’s my problem two years ago. Ever since then, I have deliberately tried any of the vision exercises I was aware of and charted my progress. How do they do? My result astonished me.

One fifth of the vision therapy I tried was accountable for eighty percent of my progress. I make note of those eye exercises and grouped them as what I called “the fundamentals”. These eye exercises, I think, are the basic of every vision strengthening program.

In this article, I would like to reveal one of those eye exercises. It is called “palming”. It may sound too straight-forward but believe me, it works. It works like the following:

Make sure you are seated for this eye exercises. Close your eyes and gently put your palms on them, so that you cannot see light. Imagine the tense in your neck and shoulders are dissipating. Think of anything that relaxes you. It can be anything at all. A relaxing beach? A small garden surrounded by large field of flowers, perhaps.

When you palm, make sure you set a countdown timer so that you won’t be anxious about how long you’ve been doing it. Palm for a total of ten minutes, three times everyday. Once when you get up in the morning, once during your recess from work and once just prior to you go to bed.

Palming at the start of the day enables you to insert a standard for the rest of the day. The one in the middle of the day enables your eyes to chill out and regulate stress. While the one in the evening loosen your eyes and prepares it for sleep.

Improving mental health is a massive industry. Just do a easy Google search and you’ll discover literally millions of results. Although do you realize that the science behind modern neurology is pretty young? Like a 100 years young? And that’s not even taking into account the latest uncovering of neuroplasticity (your brain’s ability to modify) – a finding that changed what how neurologists viewed the brain and the birth of brain exercises and memory exercises.

In this post, I am going to tell you two things that many individual fail to do when it comes to retaining and strengthening their mental health. Considering the science is so new, don’t be amazed if even experts missed these. Here we go.

1. You may by now realize that brain exercises could enhance brain capacity. This is because when presented with a challenge, your brain alters and become better, similar to your muscles. Although do you realize that there is a necessary ingredient that scientists take for granted? When challenges were presented to two batch of rats – one in a group with normal social interaction and the other in seclusion, the outcome were totally unalike. The rats in groups had more neurons – as suspected – yet the brains of the rats in seclusion actually wasted away! That’s right, brain exercises could strengthen your mental health, however that is true only assuming that you have regular social interaction.

2. You may not know that however open space has an extensive influence on your psychology. A test was once carried out by John B. Calhoun, again on rats. When space was abundant, the rats behaved as foreseen in a utopian universe he place them in. Although when they reproduce and space became insufficient, he seen unpredictable transformation in the rat’s behavior. Females refuse to reproduce and became more and more aggressive while guys became anti-social and ended courtship. Unsocial confinement has much been adopted as a torture device hence don’t use it against yourself. Go out to some open space, preferably out of town, at least once a week. You will enjoy the feeling.

In July 1968, John B. Calhoun, an American research psychologist, once did a very splendid research on the effect of open space on your mind. The test, of course, involved rats, not humans but his reports were universally regarded to be a appropriate. Here is what he did.

He arrange 4 pairs of mice into a perfect world. There were no hunters, no shortage of food or drinks and of course, no shortage of mating partner. Essentially these mouse have anything they wish for – with the exception of space.

At the beginning, everything looks just great. The mouse lived as they are suppose to be. Their community grow rapidly, doubling about every 55 days. Very soon, when the population of the mouse reached 620, the place he was keeping them in become full. That was day 315 of the test. Surprisingly, the number of rats started to drop since then… to the point where the last existing birth was at day 600. At the same time, in between day 315 to day 600, the mouse behaved erratically.

No longer do guys defend their domain and females. No longer do they engage in courtship or physical encounter. Alternatively they become anti-social, and clean themselves. Due to their lack of scars and healthy coats, these number of guys were dubbed “the pretty ones”.

The girls, on the other hand, became progressively aggressive, reluctant to give birth and get rid of their junior before weaning was finished. After day 600, the number of rats started to decline into extinction.

Sound familiar? Needless to say, these mouse are very depressed during this period of time. Did the lack of space and increasing population density changing your psychology? Who knows? Maybe so, perhaps not. However if you’re similar me, you want to find out.

Try this out: At worst every week, go to an open area. Be it a pasture or out of city. Most people feel relax, sort of a liberation when in open area. No mental exercises or brain training exercises can replace this.

If you desire to enhance your memory, the first thing you should look to modify is your diet. As if any part of your body, nutrition play a huge – if not largest – role in making sure it functions the way it is expected to be.

In fact, nutrition act as a crucial building blocks in your brain. Opposed to famous belief, your brain doesn’t decay without appropriate nutrition – it deterioriates. Particular food, like sugar in all its form, have been proven to contribute to mental deteriorate.

In this article, I will tell you the 5 most effective food for brain improvement.

1. Blackberries, goji berries, raspberries and blueberries. These berries not just supremely nutritious, they also contain high amount of antioxidants. It battle against the oxidation course – a process that slaughter neurons (brain cells).

2. Green leafy vegetables. Not at all surprise here. Besides the nutrition and antioxidants in vegetables, they also contain chlorophyll. Chlorophyll attach itself to toxins in your body and push them out. Although it did not exactly affect your brain, it improves the condition of other parts of your body – and that consequently enhance your brain.

3. Red meat. That is right, red meat. Meat contains high amount of vitamin B, which is essential to the correct function of the brain. Not simply so, it’s one of the only three sources of vitamin B12, shortage in which can causes permanent harm to the brain and result in psychosis.

4. Other sources of vitamin B12 are dairy and eggs.

5. As much as possible, stay away from foods high in sugar. Few of these consist of, but not limited to, watermelon, rock-melon, bananas and most fruits. Additionally, you should also abstain from foods like rice, bread, noodles and potatoes. I know they create a significant part of today’s diet but these foods are not part of our starting diet.

In the beginning, you will absolutely feel an craving for these food – despite the fact that you’re stuffed. Sugar is addictive in nature and when you stop eating it, you will suffer from withdrawal symptoms. How fruitful you are depends on how strong is your will for brain fitness.
